What we like about it: With a core design that focuses on endurance riding and a variety of proven technologies, the BMC Roadmachine X Two is certainly in the ultimate balance of comfort and performance.
What we don’t like about it: If the $5,099 price isn’t your downfall, it’s certainly not its downfall either.
As we all know, it is BMC’s constant pursuit to achieve a perfect balance of material selection, mechanical technology, and manufacturing process. Judging from the performance of the 2023 BMC Roadmachine X Two, BMC has indeed achieved it.
With long-distance endurance riding as the core, high-quality carbon frame and fork, with the proven TCC Endurance technology design, beautiful and simple fully concealed internal alignment, advanced ICS shock grips using Micro Travel technology, combined with SRAM eTap XPLR 1x groupset, and WTB Expanse tires. All of these are profound interpretations of what it means to create a higher performance of speed with less weight. The unparalleled comfort also inspires the rider’s confidence in endurance riding.
Ride it, and you can immediately feel, what means faster, farther, longer, and more comfortably.
The 2023 BMC Roadmachine X Two is a great way to make up for the missing link in BMC’s URS Gravel adventures and Roadmachine long distance-endurance rides.

BMC Roadmachine X Two Endurance Riding Review
Unlike Aero road bikes, the BMC Roadmachine X Two is more about comfort and longer rides than it is about speed. Of course, the BMC Road machine X Two is also fast.
The 2023 BMC Roadmachine X Two gave me a deeper understanding of endurance riding during the “Overseas Highway” tour.
From Key Largo, I rode through Islamorada, grassy key, and lower keys to Key West, a total distance of about 100 miles. With the help of BMC Roadmachine X Two, I was able to complete such a difficult journey in one day.
First, the lightweight saddle of the Fizik Terra Argo X3, built specifically for Gravel, made me feel quite comfortable. It uses a carbon-reinforced nylon bottom shell to absorb shock, and the forward-tilting nose is cleverly designed to allow me to rotate my pelvis while moving my hips forward. In the middle of the ride, I could feel that I was not only gaining more traction but that the power transfer efficiency had been improved as well.
Secondly, the integrated cockpit design with fully hidden internal alignment is also very sensational. Blowing the sea breeze gave me great confidence and inspired me to keep riding.
In addition, the handlebar design of the BMC RAB 02 – Ergo Top Shape – Compact Bend was also sensational and allowed for more flexibility in my body position. Again, not only did it allow me to relax my arms when switching positions, but I could feel the leverage giving me extra speed as well. Combined with SRAM’s further optimized shape of the hand change head, it fits my small hands well. From any position, I was able to get more comfortable and better brake control.
What makes me happiest is that the tire size of 70x33c is so good for endurance riding. The vacuum tires WTB Expanse not only have great grip but also have great puncture protection. The 100 miles down the road, I checked the condition of the tires and there was not a single scratch.
Finally, I the two rack mounting holes in the frame I also took full advantage of. Plenty of food and water were stored there for replenishment of physical energy.
The “Overseas Highway”, which lasted less than eight hours, ended in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, thanks to the clever design of the BMC Road machine X Two.
BMC Roadmachine X Two General Riding Review
On a road ride, there are long, flat stretches of road, and unobstructed surfaces are a rare occurrence. But when it comes to rough roads, the BMC Road machine X Two performs just as well.
The lightweight carbon frame with a fork, using TCC Endurance technology is undoubtedly the most perfect process. Even on the rocky trails in the park, I never experienced pain from bumps and vibrations.
Combined with the wide enough 700x33c vacuum tires, there is very strong passability. Despite the lack of shocks, I would pass with confidence on the occasional gravel trail.
Impressive, too, was the SRAM Rival eTap AXS drivetrain. The simple operating system made me feel more relaxed on the climbs than ever before as if someone was pushing me along behind me.
In addition, occasionally, when I have free time, I will ride it out for a walk. Because the D-shaped seat bar design is more scientific, although this geometric design is more suitable for endurance riding, but also suitable for fitness exercise.
It is praiseworthy that the lightweight carbon frame with a fork using TCC Endurance technology ensures that the body is light enough and strong enough but at the same time damping and comfortable enough.
And, the powerful TCC Endurance technology seeks to strike the ultimate balance between comfort and performance. It propels the rider farther even on the roughest of roads.
However, in the pursuit of simplicity and perfection, BMC felt that this was not enough for them. Therefore, the lightest and strongest ICS, the Integrated Cockpit System, was developed.
If you think ICS is only designed for aesthetic purposes, you are mistaken. Not only does it use an invisible cable layout and seamless integration, but what it embellishes is functional integration.
First, the change in design allows all electronic components and brake lines to be stored away from the components for increased durability. Second, the interlocking shim design makes stacking adjustments easier by eliminating the need to remove the valve stem and disconnect the hydraulic cable. In addition, different-length handlebars are provided to create the ideal riding position for the rider and a more wonderful riding experience. Finally, the progressive aerodynamic shape allows the rider to easily obtain an efficient aerodynamic position for a faster and more comfortable ride.
When it comes to geometry the most impressive thing is none other than BMC’s signature D-shaped seat post design. Shock absorption while improving certain aerodynamic performance.
It has to be said that the so-called aerodynamic performance is even more so thanks to the steep enough 74.2° seat tube angle. Although 74.2° seems a bit aggressive, it is, after all, designed for road endurance. The rider needs to use the bend angle more to fit the aerodynamic position.
Secondly, the Stack and Reach are designed for the height of the rider. Different height sizes are paired with different Stacks and Reach to ensure that riders can take on longer and more challenging trips.
In addition, the bias high track (Trail 6.3cm) ensures stable speed and is more suitable for road endurance riding.
Components and Specifications
SRAM Rival eTap AXS Drivetrain
How can you embrace a better riding experience without the high-end SRAM groupset?
As the originator of the 12-speed system, the SRAM drivetrain inherits the rugged, tough, and solid American style. Moreover, the radio change is cool and handsome.
Commendable is the intuitive and precise wireless shifting, innovative gear ratio with integrated power detection, and simplicity while ensuring rich functionality. In addition, the X-SYNC technology with dense gear ratios, paired with the Chain of SRAM RIVAL 12 Speed makes Flattop lighter, quieter, and more durable, making your shifting process silkier smooth, and fast.
With such a well-developed drivetrain, it can perform calmly even in the face of steeper or single-track bottom surfaces.
Some may feel that the 1×12 shifting is less fancy, but it is enough for users of the 2023 BMC Roadmachine X Two, which focuses on comfort and endurance. After all, a lighter load will allow you to get a longer ride, won’t it?
SRAM Rival eTap AXS HRD – Paceline Rotors
Also working well with the wireless drivetrain is the SRAM Rival eTap AXS HRD, where SRAM has further optimized the shape of the handlebar to accommodate hands of all sizes. This allows for comfortable and safe braking control from any position. Combined with the ICS MTT x Redshift suspension stem, riders can get a more comfortable riding experience by combining their riding style with the terrain.
Not only that but the simplicity and durability of hydraulic braking also mean a higher price to build. Therefore, it shows that BMC Roadmachine X Two comes with full sincerity.
WTB Expanse Tires
As a tire that is in direct contact with the ground, it is especially important to choose it for road endurance bikes.
We see WTB Expanse tires on many high-end bikes, and the BMC Roadmachine X Two is no exception.
Whether facing flat roads or more challenging gravel sections, the WTB Expanse tires are confident enough.
And the 700c size is very common on road bikes. Facing longer distances and slightly more challenging roads, the 33mm width is again really necessary.
If you prefer tubular tires, the BMC Roadmachine X Two is also supported. the XRD-522 – Tubeless Ready – 25 mm rim, gives you more options.
But I recommend you use vacuum tires because they are more shock-absorbent and durable enough. After all, it’s always more convenient to carry a bottle of self-replenisher when traveling than to carry a spare inner tube as well as a pump bottle.
Other versions of BMC Roadmachine
The 2023 BMC Roadmachine Two, a higher-end endurance bike than the 2023 BMC Roadmachine X Two, is similar in the frame as well as design but uses the higher-end SRAM FORCE eTap AXS for the derailleur and brakes, and 2 × 12 gears, giving a faster ride and a more fun riding experience. In other aspects, such as handlebars, saddle, and tires details are also given more detailed design.
But in terms of the most realistic riding experience, the two give me comparable feelings in terms of comfort and endurance. The 2023 BMC Roadmachine X Two is quite cost-effective as a general road endurance bike.
If you are looking for a more refined riding experience, the 2023 BMC Roadmachine Two is also a very good choice.
There are many more models of the 2023 BMC Roadmachine, all with top-notch configurations and good value for money. If you are interested, you can keep following us, we will bring more real riding reviews.

2023 Trek Domane SL 6 eTap Gen 4 vs 2023 BMC Road machine X Two
Also made of carbon, the 2023 Trek Domane SL 6 eTap Gen 4 is also an excellent endurance road bike. Although it also uses the same SRAM Rival AXS drivetrain, the 2×12 configuration gives the bike a little more of an advantage in terms of speed.
My only regret is that the Trek Domane SL 6 eTap Gen 4 doesn’t appeal to me as much as the BMC Roadmachine X Two in terms of riding comfort.
After all, it’s a long-distance endurance ride, and a more comfortable riding experience is what gives riders more confidence to stick with it.

2023 Specialized Turbo Creo SL Comp E5 vs 2023 BMC Road machine X Two
The 2023 Specialized Turbo Creo SL Comp E5 is qualified as an Endurance E-BIKE, despite the aluminum frame used. With the help of Motor, endurance riding becomes more relaxed and comfortable the more you ride. However, I feel that the price of $6,000 is still not too friendly, plus the electric device also means you will pay more time and effort to maintain. Also, the 700x28mm tires mean you’ll lose more of the challenge possible when facing more challenging gravel roads.
If the purpose of your ride is to exercise, then the motorless BMC Roadmachine X Two is sufficient for your needs.
Ribble Endurance SL R Disc – Enthusiast, Shimano Ultegra Di2 vs 2023 BMC Road machine X Two
Compared to SRAM, the 2022 Ribble Endurance SL R Disc – Enthusiast, Shimano Ultegra Di2 has shown its love for Shimano shows its heartfelt love. Not only does the groupset use the Shimano full set, but many small details, including the name, also did not let Shimano.
So, if something goes wrong with your Ribble Endurance SL R Disc – Enthusiast, Shimano Ultegra Di2. It is very easy to repair because you can easily find its parts on the street.
I must admit that I used to be a big Shimano fan too. But since I rode the 2023 BMC Roadmachine X Two and experienced SRAM’s operating logic, I prefer the latter. Because it’s simpler and more fun.
Cannondale Synapse Carbon 2 RLE vs 2023 BMC Road machine X Two
The 2022 Cannondale Synapse Carbon 2 RLE, which also cares about user comfort, is equally over the top in terms of both materials and performance. And the details are spot on.
But I have to say that the more aerodynamic geometry of the BMC Roadmachine X Two gives me a more comfortable riding experience. Plus the minimalist style of the fully concealed internal alignment is also more in line with my aesthetic needs. And, again, I was attracted by its cheaper price.
But everyone has their ideas, and choosing the right one for them is the most important.
