We will analyze the riding experience, key features, components, specifications, and other versions of the Obed GVR GRX 810. In the latter part of this article, we will also compare it to several top bike models. If you want to learn more about bike reviews, you can follow us.

Riding Experience

The Obed GVR GRX 810 is a gravel road bike with a top-level carbon fiber frame. The internal cable routing design gives it a clean and sleek appearance. Combined with its excellent components, it can compete with any gravel bike out there.

To test it out, I packed the Obed GVR GRX 810 and booked a trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. This area has some undulating country roads and gravel trails, making it a perfect riding route for this gravel bike. I believe I will have a great time with the Obed GVR GRX 810 here.

Climbing

During a long uphill section, the lightweight of the Obed GVR GRX 810, along with its excellent frame geometry, gives me a centered weight distribution, resulting in a more direct power transfer during pedaling. This is particularly helpful for long-distance uphill rides.

Furthermore, the Shimano GRX RX810 48/31T chainring paired with an 11-34T freewheel provides a wide range of gear ratios. Using the smaller chainring with the larger freewheel makes pedaling more effortless.

Lastly, the bike’s high-quality tires offer great grip with strong adhesion. The power generated through pedaling can be effectively transferred to the road surface.

In conclusion, the Obed GVR GRX 810 with its lightweight carbon fiber frame and premium componentry has been helpful to me during uphill climbs, minimizing fatigue and maximizing performance.

Descending

After climbing uphill with the Obed GVR GRX 810, I arrived at a long stretch of gravel road for the descent. Thanks to its carbon fiber frame, it exhibits minimal deformation on this uneven surface. Combined with wider tires compared to a road bike, I can feel slight vibrations through my hands.

Moreover, the Shimano GRX RX810 rear derailleur provides strong tension. Even on bumpy and fast downhill sections, the rear derailleur remains stable.

Additionally, the 700C large-diameter wheelset increases downhill speed while enhancing its ability to tackle small potholes directly.

What I particularly like is the Shimano GRX RX810 hydraulic brakes. Paired with the Shimano XT MT800 160mm floating brake rotor, they offer excellent heat dissipation during continuous braking.

It ensures that the brakes won’t experience any loss of stopping power due to overheating, guaranteeing safety and stability during my rides.

In summary, the lightweight of the Obed GVR GRX 810, combined with its premium components, ensures excellent climbing performance and cruising speed on flat roads. Its stability and confidence on downhill sections are further enhanced.

Specification

The Obed GVR GRX 810 features a lightweight carbon fiber frame, reducing the bike’s overall weight. It is available in five frame sizes (XS-XL) to accommodate different riders. The internal cable routing and quiet line tube design not only contribute to a cleaner appearance but also reduce noise on rough surfaces.

What I like is that the color of the frame sections and the brand logo can be customized, offering more options for paint customization.

Furthermore, the frame provides multiple mounting holes to support full-size water bottle installation and carrying additional equipment for long-distance rides.

Lastly, its excellent geometry ensures comfort during long rides without any discomfort.

Other Versions

The Obed GVR GRX 810 is a top-tier gravel bike with a carefully selected range of components. Its lightweight carbon fiber frame and comprehensive capabilities make it an outstanding gravel bike. However, the 2×11-speed drivetrain may have more performance than necessary.

Therefore, we also offer another version of the gravel bike with the same carbon fiber frame but different component choices.

Obed Boundary Campy Ekar 1×13

Obed Boundary Campy Ekar 1x13

The Obed Boundary Campy Ekar 1×13 shares the same carbon fiber frame as the Obed GVR GRX 810 but features different components.

Firstly, the Obed Boundary Campy Ekar 1×13 utilizes the Campy Ekar 1×13-speed drivetrain. The 40T chainring paired with a 10-44T cassette provides a good balance between speed on flat roads and lightweight performance during uphill rides.

In terms of braking, the Campy Ekar hydraulic brakes with Campy Ekar 160mm Center Lock rotors offer reliable stopping power for continuous braking during long downhill descents or quick stops on narrow paths.

As a result, this bike features a simpler drivetrain system, resulting in a lighter overall weight compared to the Obed GVR GRX 810. It appeals more to riders who prefer a simpler gear setup.

Both of these bikes are gravel road bikes with excellent carbon fiber frames.

However, the former features the Shimano GRX RX810 2×11-speed gravel-specific groupset. This provides a wider range of gears compared to the latter’s SRAM Apex 1×11-speed groupset, making it more efficient on steeper inclines and offering a faster cruising speed on flat roads.

Both bikes have excellent braking components, ensuring reliable and responsive braking performance.

Considering that the prices of these two bikes are similar, I would recommend the former one. It offers more gearing options, which enhances its overall riding capabilities.

In terms of frame geometry, the former bike has a more relaxed geometry, which provides stability and smoothness during descents.

In terms of the drivetrain, the former bike with the Shimano GRX RX810 2×11-speed groupset offers a silky-smooth shifting experience. On the other hand, the latter bike features the SRAM Rival XPLR eTap AXS, which offers easy electronic shifting and a lighter feel.

Both bikes have powerful braking performance, with responsive braking capabilities.

Lastly, the Obed GVR GRX 810 has a lighter overall weight, making it more efficient for long-distance uphill climbs and extended rides.

Therefore, I would recommend the Obed GVR GRX 810, which has better geometry and lighter weight, between these two bikes.

Next, let’s compare these two bikes. The latter one is more like a dedicated gravel bike designed to tackle challenging terrains.

It features a frame design that resembles more of a mountain bike, along with the inclusion of dropper post compatibility and wider, more aggressive off-road tires, making it better suited for riding on rough and bumpy surfaces.

The former bike, with its Shimano GRX RX810 2×11 drivetrain and lightweight carbon fiber frame, offers a wider range of gears and faster cruising speeds on flat roads.

If you prefer a more focused riding experience on complex terrains, the Giant Revolt Advanced 1 would be a better choice. If you prioritize agility and responsiveness in pedaling, the Obed GVR GRX 810 is a better option.

Cannondale Topstone Carbon 105

Between these two bikes, the latter features a rear suspension design, allowing it to absorb some of the vibrations when riding on bumpy terrains.

Furthermore, both bikes utilize a 2×11-speed drivetrain.

However, the former bike utilizes the gravel-specific Shimano GRX RX810 drivetrain, which is more durable and can reliably perform even in muddy environments, compared to the Shimano 105 drivetrain found on the latter bike, which is more suitable for road cycling and offers smoother shifting.

Given the choice between these two bikes, I would still opt for the Obed GVR GRX 810 without hesitation. I prefer its custom paint options, higher-level components, and overall impressive performance.
