Bicycling has become a trendy choice today. On the streets of New York, you can see all kinds of people flying around in professional cycling outfit and protective gear.

Whether it’s for commuting, exercising, or protecting the environment, cycling is always the healthy and enjoyable thing to do.

For that reason, we found this Look 765 Optimum Charcoal Metallic SatinCharcoal Metallic Satin.

Before I even started riding, I thought this bike would make people relaxed and free.

Below, we will analyze the riding experience, key features, components, and specifications as well as other versions of this bike.

Additionally, at the end of the review, we will also compare several best bike models.

Riding Experience

After a longer search, I still hadn’t found a bike that would really fit me.

I’ve been struggling with that until the Look gave me an opportunity, making me think it is a real suitable one.

Enduro Riding

This time I rode the Look 765 Optimum Charcoal Metallic Satin on an enduro test from the city to the outskirts of New York.

It’s worth noting that the bike came with two water bottle holders, so I wasn’t worried about hydration.

The road conditions were always changing from urban to suburban areas, but the CONICAL (Syntace STD) adaptad well to the different surfaces.

In addition, this bike had a unique design that combined carbon fiber and fiberglass with innovative materials and 3Dwave technology. Even on a somewhat bumpy road, I felt like I was flying.

In addition, I handled the frame with optimized aerodynamics with lightness and agility, ensuring that I would not ride very hard during long cruises.

Thanks to the LOOK Cycle’s use of exclusive proprietary technology and innovative materials, through a complex endurance equation, I was able to ride very far from other bikes.

It also helped me find the most comfortable position for riding and distribute physical strength reasonably in different sections of the road.

Even though the trail was very long, after a long ride, I still felt comfortable on the LOOK by S MARCO Short Fit Dynamic Open Fit saddle.

The ergonomic cutout released pressure on my sensitive areas. I have to admit that the bike is very suitable for enduro riding.

Commuter Riding

After acquiring this Look 765 Optimum Charcoal Metallic Satin, I rode it for my commute and got surprised by the bike.

I rode it from home on a flat, open road in the first light of the morning.

I set the SHIMANO ULTEGRA drivetrain to its maximum gear ratio and flew down the road feeling very free and relaxed.

On the very long uphill ahead, I switched the SHIMANO ULTEGRA drivetrain to the smallest gear ratio to get more power with less effort, and I wouldn’t exert too much effort on this stretch of road.

Gradually coming to the busy street, I relied on the LOOK LS2 Alloy Handlebar to make nimble changes of direction and weave through the crowd.

Even when I encountered an unexpected situation, I could still rely on the SHIMANO RT MT 800 Hydraulic Disc to stop the bike.

Also, the 766mm stand-up height would not let me fall down in an emergency brake.

After work, the rain during the day made the road rather slippery and the riding route changed from uphill to downhill.

But I was still able to ride smoothly thanks to its CONICAL (Syntace STD) tires, which provided great grip force, allowing me to maintain my balance well.

On top of that, it came with mudguards so I wouldn’t get my back wet from the mud and water brought up by the tires, allowing me to stay dry even when riding on slippery roads.

Specification

The Look 765 Optimum Charcoal Metallic Satin is an excellent carbon-frame enduro bike that offers the perfect balance of performance and comfort to handle both ultra-long distance races and daily rides well.

Besides, the Look 76 rides farther. By combining different carbon and glass fibers with innovative materials, this Look 765 Optimum Charcoal Metallic Satin balances stiffness and flexibility.

The 3Dwave technology used to absorb vibrations during the ride allows the rider to feel like they are flying while riding.

Other versions

The Look 765 5 Optimum Charcoal Metallic Satin has optimized aerodynamics and a light, responsive frame that will allow riders to get a better understanding of this bike after many tests.

It is a wonderful carbon-frame enduro bike. But many riders have their own requirements for its performance or components, so we found a bike of its type for further review.

Look 765 Optimum Black Satin

Look 765 Optimum Black Satin

The geometry of the two bikes is identical and the components similar, except that the Look 765 Optimum Black Satin’s wheels are made of carbon while the Look 765 Optimum Charcoal Metallic Satin’s wheels, aluminum.

Under the impact from the side, the carbon wheels are easy to break. However, they are lighter and can go faster.

In addition, the Look 765 Optimum Charcoal Metallic Satin boasts an Electronic Drivetrain, with lighter weight but a bit high price.

Plus, you have to be careful to check the power before you go out.

However, the mechanical shifting on the Look 765 Optimum Black Satin is relatively simpler and offers greater tactile feedback and shift control, as well as ease of maintenance.

In short, if you want stronger wheels, the Look 765 Optimum Charcoal Metallic Satin’s wheels are better for you.

Suppose you want a faster ride and a lighter frame, I would recommend the Look 765 Optimum Black Satin.

Trek Domane SL 7 eTap Gen 4

The Look 765 Optimum Charcoal Metallic Satin has LOOK R 38 D Carbon Tubeless wheels, the result of a collaboration between LOOK and Corima, with a 38mm rim depth and a 1160g (pair) weight that makes it very fast on uneven terrain and very stable downhill.

The Trek Domane SL 7 eTap Gen 4 has Bontrager Aeolus Pro 37 wheels, which are 37mm deep to bring the benefits of aerodynamics to a lightweight design.

It also has a strong OCLV carbon profile and hubs on the internal components of the DTSwiss 350 to make the bike faster.

On top of that, it is compatible with Shimano 10/11/12 speeds, making SRAM 10/11freehubs and 12sp XDR available separately.

So if you prefer a deeper rim depth, the Look 765 Optimum Charcoal Metallic Satin would be perfect for you. I would recommend the Trek Domane SL 7 eTap Gen 4 if you are looking for better compatibility.

Look 765 Optimum Charcoal Metallic Satin VS Argon 18 Krypton SRAM Force AXS

Argon 18 Krypton SRAM Force AXS
Argon 18 Krypton SRAM Force AXS

The Argon 18 Krypton SRAM Force AXS is almost $1000 more expensive than the Look 765 Optimum Charcoal Metallic Satin.

However, the Argon 18 Krypton SRAM Force AXS has an aluminum frame and wheels, which is stronger than the carbon frame and wheels of the Look 765 Optimum Charcoal Metallic Satin.

The Look 765 Optimum Charcoal Metallic Satin has a carbon frame and wheels, but it is heavier, which means less speed.

In addition, the Argon 18 Krypton SRAM Force AXS has a SRAM Red AXS 1×12 Electronic derailleur, smoother than the 2×11 Electronic derailleur of the Look 765 Optimum Charcoal Metallic Satin.

It also eliminates the front derailleur. The design of the chainstay makes the chain less likely to fall off and also reduces some of the weight.

If you want smoother shifting and stronger frames and wheels, the Argon 18 Krypton SRAM Force AXS will better meet your needs.

For people who are not on a budget, the Look 765 Optimum Charcoal Metallic Satin will be the way to go.

Look 765 Optimum Charcoal Metallic Satin VS Mason Definition Red AXS

Mason Definition Red AXS
Mason Definition Red AXS

Look 765 Optimum Charcoal Metallic Satin carbon fiber wheels are slightly lighter and travel faster than Mason Definition Red AXS alloy wheels.

But carbon fiber wheels tend to break when they encounter side impacts. Here’s where aluminum wheels come in.

The Mason Definition Red AXS also comes with a 1×12 SRAM Red drivertrain system, which provides smoother shifting compared to the Look 765 Optimum Charcoal Metallic Satin2x11 Electronic.

This combination is currently more popular because not using a front derailleur prevents the chain from falling off while also reducing weight.

So if you want a lighter bike wheel, the Look 765 Optimum Charcoal Metalic Satin is a better choice, When you need a smoother shifting, then we recommend the Mason Definition Red AXS.

Look 765 Optimum Charcoal Metallic Satin VS Cervélo Caledonia-5 Rival eTap AXS

Cervélo Caledonia-5 Rival eTap AXS

Geometrically, the Look 765 Optimum Charcoal Metallic Satin’s Stack/Reach Ratio of 1.54 is greater than the Cervélo Caledonia-5 Rival eTap AXS’s 1.5, giving the rider better stretch when riding the former.

The Metallic Satin offers better stretch, but the Cervélo Caledonia-5 Rival eTap AXS has a larger 72° head tube angle for more flexibility in directional changes.

Furthermore, the Cervélo Caledonia-5 Rival eTap AXS has an 807 standover height with SRAM Rival Hydraulic Disc for a safer stop.

In addition, the Cervélo Caledonia-5 Rival eTap AXS enjoys a 2×12 Electroinc shifter with a wider range of gears for smoother shifts.

In short, if you want a safer ride, the Cervélo Caledonia-5 Rival eTap AXS is better for you. While the Look 765 Optimum Charcoal Metallic Satin will serve you well in terms of a more comfortable ride.
