Riding Experience

I’ve been cycling for a few years now, and recently, I decided to upgrade my bike to the 2019 Kestrel LEGEND SL SHIMANO ULTEGRA. It’s a great entry-level road bike suitable for both beginners and experienced riders. I was excited to take it out on the road and see how it performed compared to my previous bike. Another thing that needs to be prepared in advance is booking accommodation. This time, I still booked accommodation on Skyscanner, hoping for a good rest.

Daily Riding

On my first ride, I took it for a spin on my usual road route. It was a mix of flat pavement and hilly terrain. I immediately noticed how smooth and comfortable the ride was. The carbon fiber frame absorbed most of the bumps and vibrations from the road, making the ride very enjoyable. The Shimano Ultegra groupset is a clear upgrade from my previous bike components. Shifting is smooth and precise, and I found it easy to maintain a consistent speed on both flat and uphill sections.

As I became more familiar with the bike, I started pushing myself to go faster. I was impressed by the bike’s responsiveness and agility, even at higher speeds. On flat sections, I was able to easily maintain speeds of 20-25 miles per hour, which was a significant improvement from my previous bike. The aerodynamic design of the frame and wheels helped reduce drag and increase speed, and I felt the difference.

Long-Distance Riding

One thing that impressed me was how comfortable this bike was during long-distance rides. I’ve experienced a lot of discomfort and fatigue on rides over 50 miles before, but with the Kestrel LEGEND, I was able to ride longer without any issues. The saddle is very comfortable and supportive, and the position of the handlebars allows me to maintain a comfortable and efficient riding posture. Even at high speeds, the bike feels stable and secure, giving me the confidence to push myself further.

The longest ride I’ve taken on the Kestrel LEGEND was a 100-mile road ride with a group of friends. We started early in the morning and rode through various terrains, including some challenging climbs and descents. Throughout the entire ride, the bike performed exceptionally well. I was able to maintain a steady speed without feeling fatigued or uncomfortable. This ride was a true test of endurance, but with the Kestrel LEGEND, I felt like I could go even further.

Overall, I’m really glad I decided to upgrade to the Kestrel LEGEND SL SHIMANO ULTEGRA. It’s a great entry-level road bike that is versatile, comfortable, and high-performing. Whether I’m on my usual road route or doing long-distance rides, this bike has exceeded my expectations and made every ride a pleasure.
