Riding Experience

Race

A few friends and I purchased plane tickets and booked a hotel on the outskirts of New York. We chose a sparsely traveled road as the route for this race. I will test the SPECIALIZED SHIV ELITE here.

The race began, and I rode the SPECIALIZED SHIV ELITE, quickly pedaling and feeling the bike’s rigidity and stability, which allowed me to maintain balance and control at high speeds. The SPECIALIZED SHIV ELITE frame is made of lightweight carbon fiber material, reducing the overall weight of the bike, and making it easier for me to climb hills. At the same time, the frame’s design also takes into account aerodynamic performance, reducing air resistance and allowing me to move swiftly on straight roads.

In the triathlon, climbing is a significant challenge. I adjusted the bike’s Shimano 105 gears, switched to the appropriate gear ratio for climbing, and felt the power of each pedal pushing me to the summit. With my extensive cycling experience, I maintained stability and safety on steep climbs. Every climb tested my strength and endurance, but the excellent performance of the SPECIALIZED SHIV ELITE provided me with strong support.

As the race entered flat roads, I adjusted the handlebars, adopted a low-profile position to reduce wind resistance, and chased speed with all my might. The high-performance wheels and lightweight components equipped on the bike allowed me to maintain a stable high speed. The precise shifting of the Shimano 105 gears allowed me to adjust my speed according to the race situation and control the rhythm of the race.

Corners and Sprints

In continuous corners, I gripped the handlebars tightly, maneuvering accurately and smoothly through each turn. The bike’s responsive handling allowed me to easily adjust my line and quickly navigate through the twisty sections, continually pushing my limits. The reliability of the Shimano 105 gears allowed me to maintain an appropriate speed in the turns, improving race stability.

In the race, every second is crucial. The SPECIALIZED SHIV ELITE’s design pays attention to details, from the frame to the gears, from the brakes to the wheels, every component has been carefully adjusted and optimized, providing me with the best competitive performance. Every pedal stroke is maximized, and every turn is as aerodynamic as possible, allowing me to maintain an advantage in the bike segment of the race.

Finally, I crossed the finish line, filled with the joy of victory. The exceptional performance of the SPECIALIZED SHIV ELITE secured my win in the race.

Specialized S-Works Shiv Disc

The Specialized S-Works Shiv Disc comes with carbon wheels, which are very sturdy and lightweight, but they are susceptible to damage when encountering sharp objects. On the other hand, the SPECIALIZED SHIV ELITE has aluminum wheels, which are more affordable and durable, and they are easier to repair if damaged. However, the weld points on the aluminum wheels are relatively fragile and prone to breakage.

The Specialized S-Works Shiv Disc features a 2×11 Electronic drivetrain, offering precise shifting. Additionally, electronic drivetrains require minimal maintenance, mainly regular charging. But in adverse conditions, mechanical drivetrains may be better suited. Furthermore, the Specialized S-Works Shiv Disc includes a Dura-Ace power meter, enabling riders to monitor their training data and conduct targeted training.

SPECIALIZED SHIV ELITE vs. BMC Timemachine ONE

BMC Timemachine ONE
BMC Timemachine ONE

The BMC Timemachine ONE can reach speeds of up to 42 mph. Moreover, in terms of geometry, the BMC Timemachine ONE features a highly aggressive design with a stack/reach ratio of 1.23, which is very low. It’s important to note that an aggressive geometry brings greater efficiency. However, the head tube angle of the BMC Timemachine ONE is slightly lower than that of the SPECIALIZED SHIV ELITE. A larger head tube angle offers more agility in riding.

The BMC Timemachine ONE has a BB drop of only 68mm, while the SPECIALIZED SHIV ELITE has a BB drop of 72mm. A smaller BB drop can lower the bike’s center of gravity, making the ride smoother. However, it can also result in a lower pedal position, causing some difficulties when turning and navigating obstacles.
