Giant TCX Advanced Pro 2
Giant TCX Advanced Pro 2

The Giant TCX Advanced Pro 2 is the latest cross-country bike developed by Giant. It’s a meticulously designed and developed bike that combines Giant’s decades of research and development experience since 1940, making it suitable for both high-end off-road racing and daily riding. Its flexible suspension system and high-performance handlebars can help you gain a competitive advantage on the track. Its structural design is also suitable for all types of terrain, making you more flexible and lightweight in off-road riding.

Now let’s analyze the riding experience, main features, components and specifications, and other versions of the Giant TCX Advanced Pro 2. If you want to learn more about bike reviews, you can follow us.

Riding Performance

The Giant TCX bike has a price of approximately $2,950. It is a relatively low price that makes it accessible to more consumers. Before setting off, I also booked accommodation through IHG Hotels & Resorts to give myself ample space to rest and prepare. Riding the Advanced Pro 2 bike, I feel its smoothness and agility. And it provides me with optimal hand grip space and riding power, enabling me to achieve the best results on the track.

Its carbon fiber frame allows me to ride more easily and freely on the track, while the carbon fiber front fork provides flexible shock absorption, making me more agile and lightweight on the track. Its Shimano RX-600 hydraulic disc brakes provide reliable braking force, while the Giant P-X2 wheelset provides stable driving, making it easier for you on the track. In addition, the Giant Contact stem provides stable handlebar control. And the Giant Connect handlebars provide a comfortable riding experience, making you more comfortable and at ease on the track.

The core of the TCX’s performance is its massive bottom bracket junction buried between the multi-faceted down tube, D-shaped seat post, and asymmetrical rear chainstays in an 86mm shell. The bottom of the down tube is curved to minimize mud buildup, the seat post bends away from the rear wheel. There’s plenty of tire clearance between the chainstays, and its top is tilted to shed mud. Upon closer inspection, I discovered that the tires also feature fairly aggressive blocky patterns that work well in the worst mud. But can sometimes create too much friction on hard surface grass. I was able to ride freely in those mud-splattered areas without worrying about the wheels slipping due to the mud.

Riding Experience

I’m not a dedicated off-road racer, as there aren’t many such races, and I often ride this bike for my daily commute. From riding in one city to another nearby, or even categorizing it as a gravel road bike. Of course, I could choose the Giant Revolt model or other models, but the performance and speed of the off-road bike completely attracted me, and this bike is perfect for me with so many unpaved roads near my home. The TCX Advanced Pro 1 comes with the Shimano GRX 810 groupset with a 40T chainring, including a chain guide and an 11-34T cassette. It’s a handy range for a one-hour off-road race but can feel a bit limiting on longer off-road climbs.

Most of the time, the sensations we feel are reflected in the bike’s geometry chart. The TCX’s handling speed is faster than imagined – its trail is 61.8mm, while the Revolt’s trail is 70.7mm. The Revolt feels more stable, as the geometry chart indicates, which is due to its longer wheelbase and 1cm lower bottom bracket drop compared to the TCX.

Overall, the Giant TCX Advanced Pro 2 is a very good gravel road bike. It is reliable, has a stable and comfortable ride, and can meet the needs of riders of all levels.

Specification

The new Advanced-Grade carbon frame with Shimano GRX RX-600 1×11-speed shifting system and Giant SLR1 wheelset are equipped with advanced carbon fiber technology. These provide riders with a faster and more agile ride. It has a responsive suspension system that grips at full speed, ensuring a safe and reliable ride for the rider and helping to improve ride stability and comfort. It also has a range of details designed to enable riders to maintain an accurate grasp of the road, such as a built-in frame damping system that grasps the road.

Other versions of the Giant TCX Advanced Pro 2

Other versions of the Giant TCX Advanced Pro 2

In this review, we evaluated the Giant TCX Advanced Pro 2, which is an excellent off-road bike designed specifically for off-road bike races. In addition to its racing frame geometry, it features wide, high-traction tires that provide a perfect race experience and can help the bike owner achieve better results or even break their records in the race.

It must be said that this is indeed a very high-quality off-road bike. Therefore, we also found a similar version, the Giant TCX Advanced Pro 0, which mainly differs in the wheelset material and the model of the overall components. The Advanced Pro 2 uses a heavier but more durable aluminum alloy wheelset, while the Giant TCX Advanced Pro 0 uses a lighter but relatively aging-prone carbon fiber material wheelset. The upgraded version of the Giant TCX Advanced Pro 0 also has a more efficient Force eTap electronic 12-speed drivetrain, which provides a safer and faster riding experience.
