Fezzari Wire Peak Pro
Fezzari Wire Peak Pro

Fezzari Wire Peak Pro offers a custom configuration tool called “Splash”, which allows both aggressive and cautious riders to customize their bikes according to their needs. The bike frame is made of lightweight aluminum alloy and features a full suspension system, providing a smooth and comfortable ride on rugged mountain trails.

In addition, Fezzari is a respected bicycle brand with many loyal cycling enthusiasts. Their focus on high quality, innovation, and customization has attracted many consumers. Therefore, the Shimano Deore XT M8100 12-speed drivetrain, Shimano Deore XT M8120 brakes, and Shimano 250W 85Nm motor on this Wire Peak make it even more appealing.

Riding Experience

Fezzari Wire Peak Pro

The price of this bike made me hesitate a bit. But because of Fezzari’s brand reputation, I thought it would be a worthwhile choice. So I took the Fezzari Wire Peak Pro to Moab, Utah. We did a series of evaluations and challenges here. The fact also told me that this Fezzari Wire Peak is indeed worth the investment. By the way, it’s essential to book accommodation in advance. And for this trip, I booked through Skyscanner again because I’m familiar with it and it gives me peace of mind.

As many cycling enthusiasts know, Moab, Utah is one of the most famous mountain biking destinations in the United States, and many adventurous riders come here to challenge the complex terrain and singletrack trails.

Desert Terrain

There are many dunes around Moab, which is a typical desert terrain. As a professional off-road rider, I know what challenges I will face, such as sand resistance and tire grip. I thought the 29″ Maxxis Minion DHF tires on the Wire Peak might be harder to control than the 27.5″ tires.

However, Fezzari wouldn’t allow such a problem to exist. The Wire Peak’s Maxxis Minion DHF front tire and Maxxis Dissector rear tire use relatively wide widths and low air pressure, providing better grip and maneuverability, making my ride easy and flexible.

Rocky Terrain

Fezzari Wire Peak Pro

In addition to the desert terrain, you will also encounter many rocky and rugged gravel trails in Moab. However, the Wire Peak Pro, with its high-quality Fox 36 Grip2 with 160mm of travel and 140mm Fox Float Float X Performance Elite, allows me to smoothly pass through the bumps caused by the up-and-down changes in the terrain.

It’s worth mentioning that the comfortable RaceFace Turbine R handlebars and Selle Italia Model-X saddle also provide better riding comfort. Not only do they reduce body impact and discomfort, but they also make riding more enjoyable.

Challenges Encountered

Although the performance of the Fezzari Wire Peak Pro is worthy of a thumbs up in these terrains, I encountered many uphill sections during my ride in Moab. I spent more time and energy on uphill sections, even though its battery was powerful and gave me a lot of kinetic energy, there were just too many uphill sections in Moab.

Also, due to the relatively heavy weight of the bike and the high-quality suspension system, it consumed some kinetic energy, causing some unnecessary losses to my ride. Moreover, some of the single-track trails in Moab are very narrow, requiring advanced handling skills. Especially since the Fezzari Wire Peak Pro’s wheels are 29″, it places higher demands on the rider’s skills.

If you want to take the Fezzari Wire Peak Pro to challenge more terrains, I suggest that you first familiarize yourself with it on beginner trails and give the Fezzari Wire Peak Pro and yourself some time to get to know each other.

Specification

This bike is equipped with a 140mm TetraLink™ suspension system, CleanCatch™ suspension system, and Frame Defense Tech derailleur hanger, making it easy to handle complex terrain.

In addition, the frame houses a 504Wh removable battery that powers the Shimano EP8 250W motor, providing 85 nm of torque, and making climbing and conquering technical difficulties easier.

The suspension system is also not to be underestimated. The front fork is a Fox 36 Grip2 Performance Elite with 160mm of travel, external low-speed compression and rebound adjustment, and lockout adjustment. The rear shock is a Fox Float Float X Performance Elite, providing responsive and predictable suspension. Even on technical trails, it will make you feel more stable.

Not only that, but the Shimano XT M8100 12-speed rear derailleur, Shimano XT 8100 1×12 Rapid-fire Plus manual shifter and Shimano M7100 11-51T 12-speed cassette provide smooth, accurate shifting and a wide range of gear ratios. The Shimano XT8120 4-piston brake calipers and 203mm brake rotors provide excellent braking power and reliability, ensuring safe stops.

Overall, this is a high-end mountain bike designed for serious riders, with performance, durability, and appearance all deserving of praise. Its high-quality components, advanced suspension system, and powerful motor make it perform well on any terrain. Whether you are an experienced professional rider or a weekend cycling enthusiast, the performance, durability, and appearance of this bike will leave a deep impression on you.

In the other versions of the Fezzari Wire Peak, we got the Fezzari Wire Peak Comp. This is a bike priced at only $3899, with a relatively short front fork travel (150mm) and no dropper post configuration, but it is still stable to ride. However, if you want to go and challenge terrain similar to Moab, my advice is still to choose the high-end version of the Fezzari Wire Peak Pro.

Of course, if you are considering your budget, this Fezzari Wire Peak Comp is also a trustworthy choice.

Fezzari Wire Peak Pro vs. Trek Fuel EXe 9.5

Trek Fuel EXe 9.5
Trek Fuel EXe 9.5

The name Trek is known to almost anyone who has even a slight interest in cycling. This Trek Fuel EXe 9.5, just like the Fezzari Wire Peak Pro, comes equipped with high-performance suspension and braking systems.

However, when it comes to the design, the Fezzari Wire Peak Pro features a modern geometric design and streamlined structure, while the Trek Fuel EXe 9.5 places greater emphasis on intricate details and exquisite craftsmanship.

In terms of overall performance, though, despite its unique OCLV carbon fiber frame, the Trek Fuel EXe 9.5’s 360w and 50Nm design, in my opinion, do not match its price tag.

Of course, this is only my personal opinion. If you prioritize performance in a mountain bike, I believe the Fezzari Wire Peak Pro would be a better fit.

If you prioritize details and design, the Trek Fuel EXe 9.5 may be more to your liking.

Fezzari Wire Peak Pro vs. Giant Trance X E+ 3

Giant Trance X E+ 3
Giant Trance X E+ 3

In terms of price, these two bikes are only $99 apart. However, the Fezzari Wire Peak Pro is the high-end version of the Fezzari Wire Peak. It has a front fork travel of up to 160mm, and the 504Wh battery capacity is enough for you to challenge more terrains.

Of course, the Giant Trance X E+ 3 is also a cost-effective bike. Its aluminum alloy frame makes it relatively heavy. However, the high-quality aluminum frame will also allow you to explore rough terrains with peace of mind.

Personally, excluding other factors, I prefer the color of the Fezzari Wire Peak Pro.

Fezzari Wire Peak Pro vs. Liv Intrigue, X E+ 2

Liv Intrigue, X E+ 2
Liv Intrigue, X E+ 2

The price difference between these two bikes is just under $100. However, the Liv Intrigue X E+ 2 has a slightly slimmer and more streamlined top tube, which is more friendly for women.

Additionally, with a battery capacity of 625Wh, you won’t have to worry about range anxiety.

That being said, it’s worth noting that the Liv Intrigue X E+ 2 can be equipped with 27.5″ tires, which will make your handling more agile on narrow trails.

On the other hand, the Fezzari Wire Peak Pro with 29″ tires can handle obstacles more easily and achieve faster speeds.

Overall, choosing between these two bikes depends entirely on personal preference and intended use. If you value agility, the Liv Intrigue X E+ 2 may be the better option for you. However, if you prefer to tackle challenging routes, I would recommend the Fezzari Wire Peak Pro.

Fezzari Wire Peak Pro vs. CUBE STEREO HYBRID 120, SLT 750

CUBE STEREO HYBRID 120, SLT 750
CUBE STEREO HYBRID 120, SLT 750

One of the factors that attracted me to the CUBE STEREO HYBRID 120, SLT 750 is its Bosch Performance Line CX Gen4 electric system. As we all know, the Bosch Performance Line CX Gen4 electric system is stronger in initial acceleration performance. So if you value this aspect, the CUBE STEREO HYBRID 120, SLT 750 is a good choice.

However, that’s not to say that the Fezzari Wire Peak Pro is inferior. With the same output power and torque, the Fezzari Wire Peak Pro uses the Shimano EP8 electric system, which provides a more natural assist mode and has lower noise and faster response. So if you prefer low noise and agile response, the Fezzari Wire Peak Pro is a great value choice.

Summary

All in all, the Fezzari Wire Peak Pro is a high-performance electric mountain bike that offers great value. It can handle challenging riding environments and terrain with ease.
