Riding Performance

Felt BROAM 60

Felt BROAM 60 is a satisfying gravel road bike that combines features of both road and gravel bikes. It is designed to perform efficiently on both paved and unpaved surfaces, making it an ideal choice for various environments, including commuting and recreation. Hybrid bikes typically feature lightweight aluminum frames, wide tires for better traction, and flat handlebars for a comfortable riding position. They usually come with a combination of gears and brakes that allow riders to choose the best settings for their terrain.

The aluminum frame is very durable, which is common in gravel bikes. It easily glides over rocky roads without worrying about flying stones hurting me. So I’d rather spend money on buying an aluminum frame than spend more money on a lighter carbon fiber frame for a gravel road bike. The compact frame also takes good care of me when I get on and off, and the lower top tube allows me to move freely when facing bumpy roads.

I am very lucky to ride this high-quality gravel road bike on such roads. If I rode a road bike or other ordinary commuter bike, I would feel unprecedented soreness in my butt and numbness in my hands. Although the road looks very flat, the gravel surface causes the wheels to bounce significantly. Thanks to the Maxxis Refuse 40mm thick tires, my experience is very comfortable.

It makes me feel like a beast on gravel roads, equally at home on sidewalks, dirt roads, and gravel roads. Once people ride gravel bikes, they can’t wait to embark on long journeys, traversing land or other challenging routes, and experience unique perspectives that only bicycles can bring. It offers everything I want, and all I need is my adventurous spirit.

Riding Experience

Felt BROAM 60

The tire clearance is spacious, allowing me to use two sizes, 650b and 700c. The standard 700c wheelset is very useful and can accommodate the widest 45mm tires. It provides versatility for my gravel road bike, giving me the best rubber for whatever I want.

Long hours of touring on the saddle, especially those additional supplies for multi-day adventures. There is a mounting position on the top tube where you can easily install your “lunchbox” to carry more things. Meanwhile, the Broam is equipped with mounting positions for fenders, allowing you to install rainproof options for your bike. The mounting of the frame is both practical and fashionable.

Disc brakes are crucial on gravel bikes as the riding environment can be complex, requiring an efficient braking system. Compared to traditional rim brakes, disc brakes offer greater braking power, modulation, and consistent performance. Especially when the weather becomes bad or the road becomes muddy, it provides a safer interface compared to traditional rim brakes, with better stiffness, allowing me to accelerate faster and handle more confidently. All-weather control of the terrain is the essence of this bike. By the way, if you want to go riding in well-known terrain or special terrain, you can book your accommodation on IHG Hotels & Resorts. It is not only rich in variety but also easy to operate.

Overall, Felt BROAM 60 is a high-performance gravel road bike with a composite material frame and advanced components. It provids the best riding experience, and allowing you to enjoy the best riding experience on any terrain.

Felt BROAM 40
Felt BROAM 40

In this review, we tested the Felt BROAM 60, which is a gravel road bike suitable for long-distance riding on bumpy roads and can accompany you for a long time. It will be your good companion in your two-wheeled travels, and I always feel that the scenery brought by cycling travels is beyond the reach of bikes.

This is indeed an excellent gravel bike. For this reason, we also found a similar version, the Felt BROAM 40, which differs mainly in the components used. The BROAM 60 uses a 2×9 speed road kit commonly used on road bikes, which may be lacking for climbing, while the upgraded Felt BROAM 40 uses dedicated components for gravel road bikes, providing more comprehensive gravel professionalism.
