When I received the Scott Ransom eRIDE 920, its rugged appearance immediately caught my attention. With front and rear 180mm of suspension travel and a Bosch drive unit, I felt ready to conquer every steep climb and thrilling descent.

Furthermore, the bike’s excellent geometry distributed my weight evenly between the front and rear. Paired with Maxxis Assegai 29×2.6″ large-knob tires, it provided excellent traction and grip on the ground, ensuring a swift ascent without slippage.
When faced with steeper uphill sections, I shifted the rear derailleur to the largest freewheels. The feeling of pedaling was instantly light, combined with the motor’s support, making climbing a breeze.
Overall, I found the Scott Ransom eRIDE 920 to be quite fast and efficient for uphill riding as a full-suspension endurance bike.
Descending
The Scott Ransom eRIDE 920 proved to be equally efficient on descents. With a RockShox ZEB suspension fork and FOX Float X2 Performance rear shock, it offered a substantial 180mm of suspension travel front and rear. Upon landing from jumps, it absorbed nearly all impacts, ensuring a smoother landing and safety.
As I navigated intense, high-speed descents filled with rocky terrain, the 29-inch large wheels and 2.6-inch tires demonstrated exceptional capability in easily tackling bumps. Additionally, the larger wheel size provided better stability during descents, ensuring a smoother ride.
When it came time to slow down, the Shimano BR-MT520 hydraulic disc brakes, while not Shimano’s top-tier brake components, performed reliably. Equipped with four-piston calipers and SM-RT64 CL 203mm brake rotors, the braking power was substantial and dependable.
