To test it, I booked an air ticket and hotel on Skyscanner before I arrived at Canal Aventura Bike Park.
“Off-road” riding
I picked the Urubu-rei route in Canal Aventura Bike Park, which was narrow and had a lot of gravel on the road.
There was also a big downhill road overall, with some uphill slopes interspersed with it.
All in all, the challenging road brought me many obstacles.
The CAMPA EKAR played a vital role in demanding uphills and downhills, making me switch the 13-speed drivetrain to face the different conditions and unleash the bike’s performance perfectly.
On one section of the descent, thanks to the carbon frame, I grabbed the LOOK LS2 AL Gravel 12° FLARE Handlebar and adjusted my position in the air to get ready for the impact at ease.
In addition, the HUTCHINSON TOUAREG did not get punctured under such impact. In fact, it ran over gravel quite easily.
Also, the tubeless design didn’t blow out even if punctured. I feel very safe.
On a long uphill section with a lot of gravel, I shifted my weight forward, stood up, and set the CAMPA EKAR drivetrain to the smallest gear ratio for more power with less effort.
As a rider with some former experience, I finished the ride with flying colors.
Is that all?
When faced with loose, dry surfaces, such as sandy roads, many bikes would shy away from these areas.
But the Look 765 GRAVEL RS METALLIC HOPE GREEN SATIN was an exception.
Its 40mm tires were able to overcome these surfaces, with an extra wide carcass for the great support and a complex tread pattern that provided amazing friction.
As a result, I could ride on these terrains. This was the confidence that the 40mm HUTCHINSON TOUAREG tires gave me.
Overall, it’s an excellent carbon-frame gravel bike. The lighter weight and excellent riding experience are worth praising.
