What we don’t like about it: If you want to race with it, it may let you down, not that it’s not fast enough, but to protect the battery, it automatically shuts off when it goes over 15.5 mph.

Carrera Crossfire E Mens Electric Hybrid Bike 2.0 Commuter Riding
I’m sure most of you considering an electric bike are probably like me, fed up with the congested and busy streets and sweaty rides during peak commuting hours. Here I take you through my Electric Hybrid Bike 2.0 commuting journey.
Since my home is far from the company, and there are many uphill sections, I got this Carrera Crossfire E on the recommendation of my friend.
To tell you the truth, after feeling the power of the motor for the first time, I was completely overwhelmed by it. It was amazing to see how fast I could reach the top of a hill just by sitting and pedaling comfortably when I had to stand up and ride uphill.
Of course, I’ll stop pedaling when it’s time to go downhill and enjoy the gift of gravity’s acceleration. Because the large central display tells me that my speed has reached 13.4mph, which is enough to satisfy me. Then again, if the speed reaches 15.5mph, the bike will automatically shut off to prolong the battery life. I like this setting because it ensures that I am within a safe speed range.
In addition, when the bike comes to a flat surface, I usually switch to ECO mode, which saves power. Plus the near upright riding position also gives me plenty of energy to complete the pedaling task.
To my credit, when I arrived at work my colleague Mika said that she thought I came earlier today than before and looked more energetic, and she thought I had something happy lately. Yes, with it I can sleep five minutes more every day, which is indeed a cause for celebration.
Last but not least, I purchased the Halfords Rack and Waterproof Bag Bundle from the Halfords website to free up my shoulders, and after a simple installation, I was able to give it the supplies I needed to get to work every day.
Carrera Crossfire E Mens Electric Hybrid Bike 2.0 General Riding
As a hybrid bike, the Electric Hybrid Bike 2.0 can help me with more than just commuting, of course. Occasionally on weekends, I ride it to my parent’s house in town for a potluck dinner.
The road to my parent’s house was not flat and had more unpaved surfaces. However, the Carrera Crossfire E still made me feel as if I was riding on a flat road with very few bumps. And there was also less arm soreness, which made me quite satisfied. I believe this is a result of the Fork (Suntour NVX, 75mm Travel) and Saddle (Carrera Hybrid Comfort).
I have to say that Kenda tires are durable. On one ride I didn’t pay much attention to the road and the bike once drove over a pile of glass debris. I checked the tires afterward and didn’t see any scratches.
I can’t fault the Electric Hybrid Bike 2.0 for a total of about 45 miles round trip, thanks to the 417Wh Suntour STL.
Main Features
Frame Group
The sturdy aluminum frame with Suntour NVX-DS HLO 75 mm touring fork, painted in Bronze, gives the whole body a very stylish look.
And, the internal cable layout is standard for the average expensive bike. But for the sake of a cleaner and more aesthetically pleasing body, Halfords has catered to this need of the user as well.
There is a regret that the battery, mounted on the down tube, looks quite protruding. But we must also admit that this setting is also very reasonable at this price point.
To its credit, Halfords claims a lifetime frame warranty commitment. In addition, Halfords offers 1 Year Plan as well as a 3Year Plan CycleCare Plan service for you to choose from. So, you can be bold with your bike.
Components and Specifications
Suntour Performance Rear Hub Drive 250Wh Motor
The new R250 high-performance motor has a torque of up to 60Nm and a speed of up to 15.5mph.
I have to admit that the torque-sensing pedal system is great. Those who are not familiar with this pedal may not understand it very well. It provides torque by measuring the amount and rhythm of the force applied to the pedal to give the rider a comfortable, natural pedaling sensation.
In addition, this system can effectively improve the efficiency of the battery. Because it will provide you with the power you need according to your pedaling. For example, it will not give you much assistance when you are cruising on a flat road. But when you make an uphill movement, it will give you extra power help.
If you think that’s where it stops, I’d have to say you’re too narrow-minded. The huge central display, very nice, with oversized fonts, clearly shows speed, odometer, battery level (percentage), and current riding mode. And you can adjust the display brightness with a button, so you don’t have to worry about not being able to see it even in the dark.
In addition, it also provides four riding modes, and these modes cover all our travel needs. Next, a brief introduction: Firstly, ECO mode is very power-saving, and it is more power-saving when you use it for flat road cruising. Secondly, TOUR mode will give you more power to support your riding. Once again, CLIMB mode will make your climbing process easier and save energy. Finally, if you want to feel the charm of off-road riding, SPORT mode will provide you with great help.
Semi-Integrated 417Wh Battery
Adopted high-quality Panasonic 18650 lithium cells battery, although only 417Wh capacity, but the range is not worse than the big brand more capacity battery. A full charge has a range of up to 60 miles, enough to meet the needs of various daily trips. Of course, the total weight of the rider and luggage must be considered, as well as the terrain, power mode, tire pressure, assist mode, and other factors.
In addition, the detachable setting not only gives users additional charging options but also prevents theft.
Kenda Khan K-935 Tires
Kenda’s tires have a clever design. For starters, the flat center tread improves traction when rolling on flat ground. And the flat side knobs provide grip on gravel or field trails.
Secondly, the 700x40c is wide enough. Not only does it have great passability, fearless of city curbs or suburban gravel roads, but it also absorbs the extra vibration generated by the road.
In addition, the sturdy tires not only have excellent grip but also have puncture protection on the surface to support your adventure activities.
In addition, the reflective trim of the tires increases the visibility of the bike, so you no longer have to worry about being overlooked by the riders passing by in the dark.
Other Components
The Shimano Altus 9-speed drivetrain, in addition to a neat internal alignment, has an extra-large 335% shift range to help riders tackle all kinds of trails.
Also, the Tektro Hydraulic Disc is an old buddy of the hybrid bike. Although it is always mistakenly considered as “entry-level”, you have to admit that it is sufficient for daily commuting or holiday trips.
Women’s version of Carrera Crossfire E
Considering the size of female riders, a top tube that is too high is not very friendly for female riders to get on and off the bike. So the Carrera Crossfire Womens Electric Hybrid Bike 2.0 has a step-through frame, which is friendly to smaller women and riders who don’t like to hang their legs over the top tube. In addition, the silver frame, which is more in line with female aesthetics, is also very beautiful.
If you have a girlfriend why not also get her one, so you can enjoy riding together on weekends or holidays?

- The 700 x 40c tires with reflective trim not only support a wide range of road surfaces but also give riders more visibility and safer riding at night.
- The hybrid design gives it more versatility and is not limited to city commuting.
- The same has same model for ladies, which can be your romantic gift to your girlfriend.
What we don’t like about it
- Does not support too fast riding, motor will stop service when speed reaches 15.5mph to increase battery life and ensure rider safety.
- Remember to charge it on time, the extra weight of the motor and battery without power will consume more of your physical energy.

Aventon Pace 350.2 Step-Through Ebike vs Carrera Crossfire E Mens Electric Hybrid Bike 2.0
The Aventon Pace 350.2 Step-Through Ebike is very similar to the Carrera Crossfire E. Equipped with the same high-output hub motor and 417Wh battery, the Step-Through also has a beautiful exterior design. But that wasn’t enough to impress me enough to pay for it.
Because, the Carrera Crossfire E has more gear range and 75mm Travel forks, as well as a longer range.
Since they both look similar and are priced similarly, why wouldn’t I choose the Carrera Crossfire E Mens Electric Hybrid Bike 2.0 which gives me more comfort?

Trek FX+ 2 vs Carrera Crossfire E Mens Electric Hybrid Bike 2.0
I have to admit that the Trek FX+ 2 is known in the industry as well for its lightweight and comfortable geometry. The non-removable battery, however, put me off. Because I don’t have a spare place in my house to dedicate to charging it.
Also, for the price of the Trek FX+ 2, it is not as accessible to me as the Carrera Crossfire E Mens Electric Hybrid Bike 2.0. I also like the latter’s large display, which makes it easy to keep track of my speed and battery level at all times.

Cannondale Treadwell Neo 2 EQ Remixte vs Carrera Crossfire E Mens Electric Hybrid Bike 2.0
The Cannondale Treadwell Neo 2 EQ Remixte, which focuses on comfort, is also often active in the eyes of e-bike riders. But I think the Hyena 250Wh battery alone really limits the pace of the Cannondale Treadwell Neo 2 EQ Remixte. If your commute or journey is short, you might want to consider it.
But I was reluctant because I felt that if it was going to cost $2,175, I deserved a better riding experience. But apparently, the Treadwell Neo 2 EQ Remixte did not meet my expectations.

Fuji E-Traverse 2.1 ST vs Carrera Crossfire E Mens Electric Hybrid Bike 2.0
Probably the most striking thing about the Fuji E-Traverse 2.1 ST is its Shimano Altus 3×8 drivetrain. It may give you more help when you’re going up and down hills. But perhaps you don’t need me to tell you that this means it’s certainly not light in mass. So, can you imagine how a 417Wh battery will support you for longer distances?
If it were for mountain riding I might consider the Fuji E-Traverse 2.1 ST. After all, with its 700 x 47c wide tires, it’s still very rugged mountain friendly. But my main purpose is commuting, and the Carrera Crossfire E is much better at flat city roads.
