Riding Experience
Off-Road Riding
I booked plane tickets and reserved a hotel through IHG, and together with my son Lucas, we arrived at Bike Park Jasenskáy. I chose the “All-natur-all” trail, which is 495.3 meters long with a 75-meter elevation drop. While it may be an easy trail for me, it presented quite a challenge for a child.
In the morning, Lucas and I embarked on an exciting mountain biking adventure. I rode my bike, while Lucas was on a brand-new SPECIALIZED JETT 20. He eagerly led the way, and I quietly followed behind.
The SPECIALIZED JETT 20 is a mountain bike specially designed for young riders, brimming with vitality and speed. As I watched him ride, his face radiated pride and excitement. This bike is stable and easy to handle, allowing him to effortlessly navigate the rugged mountain terrain. Lucas skillfully tackled every obstacle, and the sturdy frame of the SPECIALIZED JETT 20 kept him steady on the bumpy trails.
Next, we ventured along mountain trails, and Lucas showcased remarkable skills and confidence. The efficient gearing of this bike allowed him to easily adapt to varying inclines. Fearlessly, he tackled every obstacle, swiftly crossing rocky terrains. I felt proud of his courage and determination.
Climbing Uphill and Downhill
On uphill sections, Lucas pedaled vigorously, conquering steep slopes. The gearing of the SPECIALIZED JETT 20 enabled him to adjust speed and gear ratios smoothly while climbing. He ascended with focus and determination, and I could see his resolute willpower, which warmed my heart.
On downhill stretches, Lucas descended like a free-spirited bird, swiftly flying downhill. He skillfully operated the rim brake system of this bike, ensuring he could confidently control his speed at high descents. A joyful smile lit up his face, and I could feel his passion for speed and the wind.
We traversed dense forests, following the path of a stream, and Lucas’s eyes sparkled with curiosity about nature. He maneuvered the SPECIALIZED JETT 20 with agility, tackling one obstacle after another, displaying awe and eagerness to explore nature. I quietly observed him, my eyes filled with pride and joy. As a father, watching Lucas challenge himself on the SPECIALIZED JETT 20, I knew that this experience would become a precious memory in his growth journey.

SPECIALIZED JETT 20 vs. Trek Precaliber 12
The Trek Precaliber 12 weighs 16 lbs and comes with a steel fork, while the SPECIALIZED JETT 20 features an aluminum fork. Steel forks offer excellent shock absorption and provide decent cushioning. However, they are prone to rust and can be challenging to maintain. Aluminum forks are durable, easily repairable if damaged, and cost-effective. However, the welding points on aluminum forks are susceptible to breaking.
Furthermore, the Trek Precaliber 12 has 12″ wheels, while the SPECIALIZED JETT 20 has 20″ wheels. Larger wheels offer better traction and maneuverability, whereas smaller wheels are highly agile. Additionally, the SPECIALIZED JETT 20 is equipped with a 1×7 drivetrain, while the Trek Precaliber 12 comes with a single-speed setup. Although single-speed drivetrains are more efficient, they can be tiring to ride on and may dampen a child’s enthusiasm for cycling.

SPECIALIZED JETT 20 vs. SCHWINN 20 Campus Kids MTB Bike
The SCHWINN 20 Campus Kids MTB Bike is equipped with a single-speed drivetrain, which is highly efficient and can convert all pedal power into propulsion. However, it can be quite tiring to ride. On the other hand, the SPECIALIZED JETT 20 features a 1×7 drivetrain, providing excellent shifting capabilities that allow you to switch between different gear ratios on various terrains. In other words, you can ride at different speeds with ease and freedom.
The SCHWINN 20 Campus Kids MTB Bike has an aluminum fork with strong shock absorption and rigidity. However, it is prone to corrosion, and rust, and lacks durability. In contrast, the aluminum fork on the SPECIALIZED JETT 20 is durable, cost-effective, and easy to repair if damaged. However, the welding points on the fork are quite fragile and can be prone to breaking.
SPECIALIZED JETT 20 vs. Scott Scale RC 400
The Scott Scale RC 400 weighs 19.6lbs, making it relatively lightweight. Both of these bikes have all-aluminum structures, but the Scott Scale RC 400 features 24″ wheels, while the SPECIALIZED JETT 20 has 20″ wheels. Larger wheels offer better traction and maneuverability. The Scott Scale RC 400 is equipped with hydraulic disc brakes, which provide outstanding braking performance. However, they are heavier and not as easy to maintain and repair.
On the other hand, the SPECIALIZED JETT 20 is equipped with rim brakes, offering average braking performance. Additionally, during extended downhill rides, rim brakes can accumulate a significant amount of heat from prolonged braking, potentially causing damage to the brakes and wheel rims. Furthermore, the Scott Scale RC 400 features a 1×11 drivetrain, which has a wider gear range and smoother shifting compared to the 1×7 drivetrain on the SPECIALIZED JETT 20.
SPECIALIZED JETT 20 vs. Ghost Lanao 24 Full Party
In terms of geometry, the Ghost Lanao 24 Full Party has a larger stack/reach ratio (1.51), while the SPECIALIZED JETT 20 has a stack-to-reach ratio of 1.35. A larger stack/reach ratio provides a more relaxed geometry, allowing kids to ride with their heads up and chests open. This makes it easier for them to breathe, even during long rides, and overall, it enhances riding comfort. On the other hand, a smaller stack/reach ratio may sacrifice some comfort for increased efficiency.
The Ghost Lanao 24 Full Party can reach speeds of up to 19mph, while the SPECIALIZED JETT 20 has a top speed of 18mph. The Ghost Lanao 24 Full Party has a slight speed advantage. Additionally, the Ghost Lanao 24 Full Party features a 1×11 drivetrain, which offers excellent shifting performance. Furthermore, it has 24″ wheels, providing better traction and maneuverability.
