That’s why I discovered the Pivot Shuttle LT Team XTR. It is an exceptional full-suspension endurance electric bike, and I am excited to see how it performs off-road.

The Pivot Shuttle LT Team XTR is an outstanding full-suspension endurance electric bike. To test its capabilities further, I purchased a plane ticket, booked a hotel at IHG, and arrived at the Alpen Bike Park.

I chose the Rock N Roll trail at Alpen Bike Park. It spans 4,791 feet with a 1,278-foot elevation drop, primarily downhill but with some uphill sections. The trail is extremely steep and rugged, suitable for biking only. There are many partially buried stones and artificial jump sections made from branches. It is exhilarating and poses some challenges.

Off-Road Riding

On the Rock N Roll trail, I started my ride with the Shimano 250W 85Nm mid-drive providing powerful assistance. I controlled the Shimano XTR M9100 SGS 12-Speed rear derailleur.

Based on my extensive experience, I adjusted the gear ratio to the optimal setting for different gradients, allowing the Shimano 250W 85Nm mid-drive to perform at its best. It provided a smooth ride on less steep sections.

During uphill climbs, I adjusted the Shimano XTR M9100 SGS 12-Speed rear derailleur to the smallest gear ratio. This allowed for more power output while protecting the battery and motor from damage.

On downhill sections, the Phoenix Factory Lock-On grips provide a firm grip on the Phoenix Team Low Rise Carbon handlebar. These grips have an ergonomic shape, a single lock-on design with core window perforation to increase rubber content and enhance comfort. They also have excellent shock-absorbing properties. I didn’t experience any slippage or hand fatigue during long periods of gripping.

Furthermore, the bike features 170mm of front travel and 160mm of rear travel, providing excellent suspension performance. During jump sections, I adjusted my posture in the air, preparing for the impact upon landing. Surprisingly, I didn’t feel much discomfort; instead, I found it exhilarating. I eagerly anticipated each jump section, which gave me a sense of confidence.

On the winding roads, I maneuvered with the Phoenix Team Low Rise Carbon handlebar. It is incredibly agile, allowing me to control the bike with precision through every turn.

At the same time, I adjusted the speed using the Shimano XTR M9120 4-piston Hydraulic Disc, enabling better cornering and avoiding hazards.

Furthermore, the Pivot Shuttle LT Team XTR is equipped with Maxxis Assegai 29″ x 2.5″ tires with EXO+ puncture protection, ensuring rider safety by effectively preventing flats. These tires offer exceptional traction and grip, allowing me to find optimal traction during turns and making my cornering effortless.
