Adventure is a thrilling experience for people. Through adventure, we can feel more excitement and happiness. However, no one wants to stop their adventures due to their physical limitations. That’s why I found the Orbea RISE M-LTD 20mph, an excellent full-suspension electric mountain bike.
In the following sections, we will analyze the riding experience, key features, components, specifications, and other versions of the Orbea RISE M-LTD 20mph. In the latter part of this article, we will also compare it to several other top bike models. If you want to read more bike reviews, stay tuned.
Riding Experience
According to Orbea’s promotion, the Orbea RISE M-LTD 20mph is an outstanding full-suspension electric mountain bike. To test its capabilities, I bought a plane ticket on Skyscanner and booked a hotel through IHG Hotels & Resorts. Finally, I arrived at Aguas da Serra Bike Park.
I chose the Pista 4 trail in Aguas da Serra Bike Park. It is 1.4km long with an altitude drop of 186m. The entire trail is downhill with a few steep uphill sections and sharp turns. This route presents significant challenges for riders.
Mountain Trail Riding
While riding on the Pista 4 trail, the Shimano EP801-RS motor remained silent, blending well with the serene atmosphere of the forest. It provided powerful assistance. I connected my phone to its application and adjusted the settings. As an experienced rider, I was able to skillfully control the bike, utilizing the motor to its fullest potential. The entire riding process became more relaxed.
During uphill sections, I adjusted the Shimano XTR M9100 SGS Shadow Plus to the smallest gear ratio, which provided more power and made uphill riding effortless and smooth. When accelerating while standing, I lowered the seat height with the dropper to avoid hitting my legs.
On downhill sections, I skillfully maneuvered with the OC Mountain Control MC10 Carbon handlebar. Its elliptical carbon fiber form maintains front and rear stiffness, while increasing vertical compliance to provide maximum control and minimize vibrations, thus reducing fatigue. The 66.0° head tube angle, combined with the handlebar, allowed for smooth changes in direction. I pushed the limits in sharp turns and controlled the Shimano XTR M9100 Hydraulic Disc brakes, ready to engage them at any moment to avoid danger.
In steeper sections, I opted for jump descents. I adjusted my posture in the air, preparing for impact. However, the 140mm rear travel and 140mm front travel provided excellent suspension, allowing me to experience the thrill of jumping without excessive vibrations. The downhill ride was both exciting and comfortable.
Is that all?
The Orbea RISE M-LTD 20mph features a carbon co-injected nylon shell, woven carbon fiber rails, and a black microtex cover, providing optimal support and lightweight construction. It is incredibly comfortable to sit on, and I can find suitable support in any position.
Furthermore, this bike is equipped with Maxxis Rekon tires. These lightweight off-road tires offer excellent traction, with options for a 60TPI casing. They also feature EXO puncture protection, effectively reducing the risk of flats, and providing a safe and unrestricted riding experience.
