For this review, I took the Scott Spark 910 to the Hatfield-McCoy Trails and booked nearby accommodations through IHG in advance. The trails offered a diverse range of paths, from scenic mountain terrain to rugged wooded trails, with numerous small drop platforms—ideal for this bike’s capabilities.
Climbing
The climbing ability of the Scott Spark 910 is impressive. The frame, made using Evo-Lap technology, is exceptionally lightweight while maintaining rigidity. On uphill trails, the bike feels nimble, allowing me to conserve energy without feeling weighed down.
During longer climbs, the Shimano XT M8100 drivetrain provides a wide range of gears. When pedaling starts to feel strenuous, adjusting the gears offers a more effortless pedaling experience, aiding my uphill progress.

In summary, I found the climbing performance of the Scott Spark 910 to be outstanding. It handled various terrain types with ease, even without me having to adjust the suspension compression damping.

While the Scott Spark 910 doesn’t have extensive front and rear suspension travel, the Fox suspension offers excellent support. When landing on smaller drop platforms, the suspension efficiently absorbs all impact, preventing bottoming out and providing a smooth and safe landing.
The real highlight of the Scott Spark 910 is riding on narrow trails. Its low center of gravity offers agile handling and a stable riding posture. The Schwalbe Wicked Will 29×2.4″ large-knob tires provide outstanding grip when cornering at high speeds, keeping me firmly planted on the ground. I could navigate every trail with agility and confidence.
Finally, the Shimano XT M8120 four-piston hydraulic disc brakes, combined with the 29-inch wheels, provided ample traction and powerful braking on steep and rocky terrain. With strong braking capabilities, I could control my speed with ease, navigating the route at my preferred rhythm.
