Riding Experience
The Ventum NS1 SRAM RIVAL AXS boasts a lightweight carbon fiber frame and an aerodynamic riding position. With a wider tire clearance, it gives me a sensation similar to that of an all-road bike.
To test it out, I took this bike to the Waterfront Loop. I booked a nearby hotel using IHG in advance. The route covers a total of 11 miles, mostly on flat terrain, with dedicated bike lanes.
Road Cruising
As I rode the Ventum NS1 SRAM RIVAL AXS, I was immediately impressed by its responsiveness. The carbon fiber frame feels incredibly lightweight, and the slightly lowered seat stays enhance pedal responsiveness. When cruising on flat roads, the SRAM Rival eTap AXS drivetrain delivers flawless transmission efficiency and shifting experience. Shifting is light and quick.
As I tackled winding roads and descended, I found myself entering an aerodynamic state on the bike. The integrated head tube and internal cable routing reduce aerodynamic drag. During descents, the aggressive posture and increased speed were noticeable.
Next, when climbing, the Ventum NS1 SRAM RIVAL AXS proved to be sufficiently lightweight. The SRAM 2×12 electronic drivetrain offers a wide range of speeds, allowing me to optimize energy consumption.
After riding for a while, the carbon fiber frame’s slight flex absorbs most of the road vibrations. This helps maintain comfort throughout the ride, ensuring a pleasant experience.
Sprinting Experience
Finally, I participated in a short-distance race with my local cycling buddies using the Ventum NS1 SRAM RIVAL AXS. We chose a flat route of approximately 30km for the race.
I believe the Ventum NS1 SRAM RIVAL AXS is particularly well-suited for this type of short-distance race. Its lightweight carbon fiber frame and domestique geometry allow for fast-paced riding.
As the race began, I increased my cadence and quickly positioned myself near the front, drafting closely behind the lead rider to reduce wind resistance. The SRAM Rival eTap AXS drivetrain exhibited excellent transmission efficiency, enabling me to maintain a fast cruising speed.
As we approached the finish line, I veered to one side, adopting an aggressive standing position and accelerating my cadence. The Ventum NS1 SRAM RIVAL AXS kept up with my rhythm exceptionally well. I shot forward like an arrow, quickly sprinting into first place and maintaining it until the finish line. Ultimately, I secured the top spot in this practice race.

The Ventum NS1 SRAM RIVAL AXS comes with a carbon fiber frame available in 6 different sizes, catering to riders ranging from 5’1″ to 6’7″ in height, making it suitable for a wider range of individuals. Additionally, the bike frame features two accessories at the top tube/seat tube junction for adjusting saddle height.
The tire clearance of the Ventum NS1 SRAM RIVAL AXS reaches up to 35 millimeters. This clearance is similar to that of all-terrain road bikes, but this bike remains fully focused on road racing.
