Carrera Crossfuse Womens Electric Hybrid Bike

Currently, more and more people are joining the sport of bicycle riding. With the increase of enthusiasts, this sport is not only loved by men but also suitable for women. At the same time, the style also distinguishes between men and women models, and we are going to talk about this bike as a bike designed for women.

Sold by Halfords is the Carrera Crossfuse Womens Electric Hybrid Bike, which is designed for gentle trail and road riding. Also capable of some easy off-roading, I would say it’s an ideal hybrid bike.

And when it comes to price, Carrera has always done well. So, it is safe to say that it is one of the relatively cheap bikes on the market equipped with Bosch batteries.

So let me introduce this hybrid electric bike to you in detail. I will start with the on-road riding, off-road riding, main features, and main components.

If you want to know more about the rest of this bike, welcome to follow us and we will keep updating.

Carrera Crossfuse Womens Electric Hybrid Bike Road Riding

Carrera Crossfuse Womens Electric Hybrid Bike

For me, the most important thing I look for is riding comfort. I have to say that this bike handles this very well.

The first is in the saddle, the Selle Italia Gel saddle, although it is more slender in shape than most casual saddles. This may make many riders apprehensive at first glance, but my actual riding tells me not to worry. Because the soft gel padding gives enough comfort to the hips, I don’t feel tired on long rides.

On top of that, since I work at a distance from my house, I have to spend a lot of time on the road every day.

However, when I got this bike, it solved that problem nicely. This is thanks to the Bosch Active Line Plus Mid Drive that it comes with. The four-mode selection makes it much easier for me to ride on the road. I can adjust it to suit my needs, which is very effortless, and it has greatly reduced my commute to work. And it doesn’t make a lot of noise when it’s running, so I even enjoy the quiet ride to work.

The most important point, of course, is in its range, using the same Bosch battery. I’ve been using it for the past few weeks and the average range is between 30 and 35 miles. Of course, under extreme conditions, it can reach up to 80 miles, so you don’t have to worry about its range.

Carrera Crossfuse Womens Electric Hybrid Bike Off-road Riding

As a hybrid, its excellent performance is not only on-road riding, it also has good riding performance in some easier off-road sections. Before setting off, I also booked accommodation through IHG Hotels & Resorts to give myself ample space to rest and prepare.

In this test, I took it out into the wild on gravel roads. I like its Suntour NEX HLO fork. Because in addition to the nice outer table, it has 63mm of travel, which made it easy for me to get over the bumps.

Of course, it comes with the same fork-locking mechanism. And I can turn it on when going downhill and off on the flat, which is a huge improvement to my riding experience.

On the drivetrain, it uses a Shimano Acera 9-speed, perhaps too few shifting options are available for some riders. But just so you know, it’s a hybrid e-bike, and its motor will help you when you encounter different terrain.

Aside from that, I was equally surprised by its Schwalbe Tyrago KG tires when I was climbing. The wide tires provided enough traction and grip to keep me stable on some of the rougher terrains.

Of course, I mostly use it as a daily commuter bike. Although it also has off-road performance, it is still a bit inferior to those professional hardtail bikes. However, that doesn’t stop it from being a great bike.

Main Features

Frame Group

Carrera Crossfuse Womens Electric Hybrid Bike

As a hybrid designed for women, it is very beautiful. From the overall view, you will find that both its downtube, seat tube, and other places, are very slim, which makes it look very delicate. In addition, with the light aluminum frame, you can be sure of the quality.

And its battery is mounted on the lower tube, in installation and removal are very convenient. Of course, this also leads to it being heavier.

One more thing, I like the color of its paint. The black paint makes it look very understated and subtle, and very resistant to wear and tear.

It is worth mentioning that it does not have the design of water bottle mounting holes, so you need to carry additional drinking water when riding in the field.

Components and Specifications

Bosch Active Line Plus Mid Drive

In terms of motor, the bike is a Bosch Active Line Plus Mid Drive, which weighs only 3.2kg, making it easy to mount on a bike frame without any discomfort.

And it is compatible with chain paddle and hub gear systems, which makes it able to provide good assistance when riding. What’s more, the four mode options make it good and good in the face of different terrain.

In addition, the maximum assisted speed in speed can reach 24 km/h. And there is no noise when riding, giving you a more comfortable riding experience.

Bosch PowerPacK Battery

I was pleasantly surprised by this battery during its use.

The first is in its range. In our tests, it has a maximum range of 80 miles. It can also permanently monitor the battery voltage, current, temperature, and charging status, which ensures its high safety and durability.

And, for the user’s convenience, it can not only be charged directly, but also disassembled and charged separately, which is very considerate. And it only takes 6.5 hours to be fully charged.

Suntour NEX HLO Fork

This Suntour NEX HLO fork can be said to be designed for 700C tires, and the aluminum alloy material manufacturing makes it durable. Also in terms of performance, it comes with 63mm of travel, which can effectively and efficiently absorb the bumps generated in the road and make your ride more comfortable.

And with a fork-locking device, you can set it up to suit your needs and make your ride more convenient.

It is worth mentioning that this fork has a 2-year limited manufacturer warranty, so you can find the relevant store to repair it when it is damaged.

Shimano Hydraulic M315 Brakes

This hydraulic disc brake has good braking performance, firstly, it is very easy and fast to install. Secondly, it uses Shimano mineral oil, which allows you to effectively and efficiently reduce the noise generated by the brakes while driving.

At the same time, the internal hose wiring design makes it look very simple in appearance and very suitable for 2/3 finger operation in shape.

Finally, the powerful braking performance can effectively and efficiently ensure your riding safety, so you can go riding with confidence.

Other versions of Carrera Crossfuse

For the Carrera Crossfuse series, there is a men’s model in addition to a women’s model. For you to have more knowledge about this bike, we also tested it and hope it will be helpful for you.

Carrera Crossfuse Mens Electric Hybrid Bike

Carrera Crossfuse Mens Electric Hybrid Bike

Both bikes use the same components in their configuration, so they are both equally good in performance. The difference lies in the construction of their frames.

Taking into account the differentiated body structure of men and women, this men’s bike has a higher seat tube length, and its top tube length is correspondingly higher. The women’s version uses a step-through frame, which makes it easy to get on and off.

However, this men’s bike is designed with an external alignment, which leaves its cable wires completely exposed and vulnerable to damage. Another thing to say is that both bikes are the same in terms of price. If your partner also loves to ride, then consider a sweet ride.

Carrera Crossfuse Womens Electric Hybrid Bike vs Specialized Turbo Vado 3.0

Specialized Turbo Vado 3.0

The Specialized Turbo Vado 3.0 uses the same Shimano Alivio 9-speed drivetrain for shifting but has a different choice of battery and motor.

Let me tell you, it uses a custom-tuned motor with 50Nm torque to make it even better in performance. It is also paired with a Specialized U2-530 battery, which has a large capacity of 530Wh, making it excellent in terms of range.

If you look at performance alone, you might think that the Carrera Crossfuse is not as good as it is. But you have to consider that it is a women’s only bike and is good enough for a woman.

And in terms of price, it is much more expensive. If you don’t have a big budget, then you can choose this Carrera Crossfuse Womens Electric Hybrid Bike.

Carrera Crossfuse Womens Electric Hybrid Bike VS Fuji E-Traverse 2.1 ST

Fuji E-Traverse 2.1 ST

This Fuji E-Traverse 2.1 ST uses a 3×8 in the drivetrain, which gives it more shifting options. But to be honest, we didn’t use it that much during our testing.

And, the overly complicated shifting is not so friendly for newbies. In actual riding, the Carrera Crossfuse’s 1×9 drivetrain is adequate.

In addition, although in the choice of fork, both are using the Suntour series. But the latter is made of steel, which makes it a little heavier.

So if you don’t like heavier bikes and don’t need a lot of gearing, then this Carrera Crossfuse Womens Electric Hybrid Bike would be a good choice.

Carrera Crossfuse Womens Electric Hybrid Bike VS Co-op CTY e2.1

Co-op CTY e2.1

Honestly, my choice of bike is more about how it looks than performance. And this Co-op CTY e2.1 doesn’t fit my aesthetic.

The same aluminum frame design, but it has an extra rear frame. This will be convenient for your daily riding, but it also greatly affects its aesthetics. It also has a gray paint color that doesn’t look that good to me.

If you like prettier bikes like me, then try this Carrera Crossfuse Womens Electric Hybrid Bike and it will surprise you.

Carrera Crossfuse Womens Electric Hybrid Bike vs Vvolt Sirius

Vvolt Sirius

I have to say that this Vvolt Sirius is well-equipped. The 100mm travel fork with a locking mechanism and 27.5-inch tires make it a great ride on bumpy roads.

But the Carrera Crossfuse Womens Electric Hybrid Bike is no slouch either. There’s no doubt that the extra-long battery life and full horsepower motor make it a great performer on different terrains.

And in terms of geometry, this volt Sirius has a higher seat tube length and longer reach. This also means you’re bending more when riding. I prefer to ride upright, which allows me to take in more of the scenery. So, I would prefer the Carrera Crossfuse Womens Electric Hybrid Bike.
