Rating (4.8/5)
As a well-known bike brand, BMC has been at the forefront of bike design and manufacturing. In the XCO World Championship, it was even won by BMC team riders Pauline Ferrand-Prevot and Jordan Sarrou. Proving that the BMC Fourstroke is one of the best full-suspension mountain bikes out there. The BMC Fourstroke 01 LT TWO, which is equipped with high-end components, is an outstanding demonstration of its off-road performance.
Secondly, the choice of Fox Float 34 SC Performance fork, combined with Maxxis Rekon 2.4″ WT TR EXO tires and SRAM Level TL hydraulic disc brakes, makes it even more aggressive on the mountain trails.
Next, let us introduce you to the bike in detail. We will introduce it from several aspects such as climbing, descending, main components, main features, and other versions.
If you want to know more about it, welcome to follow us.
BMC Fourstroke 01 LT TWO Climbing Review
As a professional-grade full-suspension mountain bike, the experience it gave me on the climbs was undoubtedly excellent.
To test its climbing performance, we specially chose a road with a large gradient. On the day of the test, due to the lack of advance attention to the weather, it rained a little, making the ground a little muddy. This made the climbing more difficult, but its performance surprised us.
The first is its Maxxis Rekon 2.4″ WT TR EXO tires with a tread pattern designed on the surface that provided me with enough traction and friction while climbing. When going through muddy roads, with its excellent grip, it kept me from sinking in.
And this tire also comes with EXO puncture protection, which allows me to drive fast on some special roads, and you can be completely assured of its quality.
Secondly, due to the weather, the climb was more strenuous than before. But I have to say that its advanced carbon frame design gives enough sturdiness to the body while ensuring its lightness. It was also lighter in weight, and I could feel its lightness while climbing, which saved me a lot of energy when climbing.
And on the crankset, it uses the X-SYNC2 toothed sprocket blade for complete chain control. It also uses an Eagle geometry design on the chain to achieve smooth and efficient shifting.
When I ride in a race with my partners, I always pass them easily. This is thanks to its powerful performance, which allows me to win races and keeps me immersed in the joy that riding brings.
BMC Fourstroke 01 LT TWO Descending Review
This BMC Fourstroke 01 LT TWO, it’s not focused on descending. By that I mean it is a little slower on the descent compared to other bikes of its type. But in terms of descending experience, you can still feel it’s fun to ride.
First, the Fox Float 34 SC Performance fork with 120mm travel provides excellent damping even on steep terrain. Moreover, its lightweight Float EVOL air springs and GRIP shock absorbers provide excellent adjustability and control. I can adjust the suspension to match different terrain and choose a style that suits me.
The SRAM Level TL hydraulic disc brakes are also excellent, and I was able to stop the bike easily with just a little effort.
And the powerful braking ability and fast response capability gave me a great sense of security in the descent. On sloping roads, the bike will inevitably shake differently when riding at high speed, and that’s when its braking effect comes through. I was able to keep a steady grip on the body and it didn’t make me fall because of the jitter.
Main Features
Frame Group
The BMC Fourstroke 01 LT TWO still uses a full carbon frame. The quality material gives it enough toughness to allow it to shuttle freely in the mountains and save you a lot of energy when riding.
It is also equipped with the Race Application Dropper seat post. This is the world’s first and lightest one-piece dropper seat post, which is not only lightweight but also easy to maintain. What’s more, the 80mm drop provides adequate shock absorption while riding.
And, its internal alignment design can effectively protect the line, so when you ride on muddy roads, you can not worry about mud adhering to the cable.
Not only that but there is also a water bottle mounting hole design on its down tube, making it easy to carry when you are riding in the wild.
Geometry
Maybe for full shock bikes, people don’t pay much attention to the geometry aspect. But to be honest, when I first saw this BMC Fourstroke 01 LT TWO, I was attracted by its geometry design.
Its 74.8° seat tube angle allows me to keep my body in a moderate position while riding. This can maintain my pedaling efficiency adequately.
At the same time, its slightly steeper head tube angle (66.5°) gives you a more responsive steering ability when weaving through the woods.
Such progressive geometry gives you a faster and more efficient ride.
Components and Specifications
Fox Performance Float 34 Front Fork
As a race-ready XC fork, its top tube is anodized for extra durability and protection against corrosion in wet conditions.
And it is also paired with floating EVOL air springs and FIT GRIP dampers. Both provide excellent control and adjustability, bringing excellent shock absorption. At the same time, the 120mm travel is even more stable for you to move forward on some rough roads.
The lightest fork in the Fox Suspension line, this fork offers unparalleled XC race performance and top-notch adjustability that meets your needs.
Maxxis Rekon Tires
As an aggressive off-road tire, it is not as soft as others of its type in terms of the casing, but strong enough. At the same time, its EXO puncture protection technology allows you to get through some rough terrain, unhindered.
And, combining two compounds in a special configuration in the outer layer of the tire, can effectively reduce rolling resistance and also optimize tread wear, improving grip and traction.
SRAM Level TL Brakes
In terms of brake choice, the BMC Fourstroke 01 LT TWO uses SRAM Level TL brakes. It has the same braking power as the DB3 but is lighter in weight.
Its dual-piston power and sealed pivot bearings allow you to ride with the lightest of touches quickly to the caliper pistons, which then provide precise braking.
And the SRAM Level TL brake has the same features as the Level Ultimate and Level TLM. It uses the same proven lever technology as guided pistons and airbags, so you can be completely assured of its braking ability.
Other versions of BMC Fourstroke
As a full-suspension trail bike in the same series, the BMC Fourstroke 01 LT ONE and the BMC Fourstroke 01 LT TWO are similar in terms of configuration options.
The Fourstroke 01 LT ONE, however, uses electronics in its drivetrain. This enables precise shifting to the right gear when shifting gears.
The fork is Fox Performance Elite Float 34, a more powerful fork with a better damping effect, but also more expensive than the Fourstroke 01 LT TWO.
And we found the rear suspension of the Fourstroke 01 LT ONE to be lacking in sensitivity when riding downhill in real life.
If you want to know more about this series, you can follow us and we will keep updating.

BMC Fourstroke 01 LT TWO VS Santa Cruz TALLBOY XT / Carbon C / 29
As fully shocked trail bikes are also equipped with high-end components, both use carbon in their materials. And on the tires, both use aluminum alloy.
However, the Santa Cruz TALLBOY XT / Carbon C / 29 uses its upgraded Fox Performance Elite Float 34 on the fork.
In the actual evaluation, it did not feel much difference. It is also a bit more expensive than the BMC Fourstroke 01 LT TWO due to its configuration. If you’re not as demanding on the fork, the BMC Fourstroke 01 LT TWO might be the right full-suspension bike for you.

BMC Fourstroke 01 LT TWO VS Trek Fuel EX 9.8 XT Gen 6
To be honest, when comparing the two bikes, I prefer the BMC Fourstroke 01 LT TWO because both in terms of paint color and geometry, the BMC Fourstroke 01 LT TWO is more in line with my aesthetic of a full-suspension bike.
Also, when we tested the two bikes, we noticed the difference in weight. the Trek Fuel EX 9.8 XT Gen 6 weighed 31.6 pounds, which made the difference noticeable in the ride comparison. And when climbing, the pedaling was less efficient than the BMC Fourstroke 01 LT TWO.
If, however, you have a weight requirement, I think the BMC Fourstroke 01 LT TWO might meet your requirements.
BMC Fourstroke 01 LT TWO VS Canyon Neuron CF SLX LTD
For the Canyon Neuron CF SLX LTD, it uses the RockShox Pike Ultimate Flight Attendant in its fork selection, which, in addition to its new look, features an ultra-lightweight construction and excellent travel stiffness. Its high performance is designed for trail riders. Also on the handlebars, it uses the Canyon H23 carbon handlebars, which are ergonomically designed.
In actual riding, the BMC Fourstroke 01 LT TWO gives me a similar feeling as it does. Although the fork configuration is slightly inferior to that of the Canyon Neuron CF SLX LTD, the rest of its components are of professional standard among full-suspension bikes.
If your budget is not very big, then BMC Fourstroke 01 LT TWO will be a good choice. Because it can also give you a comfortable riding experience.
BMC Fourstroke 01 LT TWO VS YT Industries Izzo UNCAGED 7 29
Needless to say, the two bikes are similar in terms of configuration options. When we tested them, we focused more on the different riding experiences that both bring.
Mainly, the BMC Fourstroke 01 LT TWO has a little lower seat tube angle than the YT Industries Izzo UNCAGED 7 29, which makes it more stable when riding. It keeps my center of gravity in the right place and allows me to make better power.
Depending on your habits, if you prefer a lower seat tube angle like me, then try this BMC Fourstroke 01 LT TWO.
And, I’m a fan of understated colors. The YT Industries Izzo UNCAGED 7 29’s beautiful yellow paint is not to my liking.
